A Good Weekend

At week 18, I will probably start to feel the parasite kick or punch me. Woo hoo!

It's weird - some days I feel very pregnant and other days I forget that I'm carrying another person inside of me. My day to day activities have been impacted but nothing has been derailed to the point of frustration. Just rolling with the punches (or kicks, whichever comes first)

Yesterday's Commencement went very well. I arrived at 6:15 a.m. and grabbed a quick breakfast before starting the funtivities before me. I was hoping that my duties as Club Seat Supervisor would be a relaxing one and I was quickly corrected by God's plan for my day. Lots of little extinguished fires later, 12:00 came and meant time to help transition Williams Stadium into the School of Business Ceremony. We loaded fake diplomas into a giant box contraption, used electrical tape to keep the wind from blowing the Business banner awry, borrowed sandbags to keep it from falling (again), and created new cards for graduates who lost them. The ceremony began, I ate a delicious meal of leftover VIP cuisine, and I was able to go home at 3:00 p.m. and sleep.

Today we celebrated Jonathan's 25th birthday! We drove to Roanoke with the intention of shopping at Motherhood Maternity, grabbing coffee and people watching, then eating a lovely dinner at Carrabba's. Coffee was replaced by Ben and Jerry's and our appetite was nearly ruined by those delicious creations of cold Heaven. After a brief food coma in the car, we were able to rejuvenate our hunger and eat a lovely meal at Carrabba's. The day ended with a slurpee from Sheetz as I drove home to the sounds of Jonathan snoring beside me.

I love my life!

  2. Aw thanks Megan!! I'm glad you're keeping a blog about it, too. It's been really encouraging to see where God has brought us when we go back and read about our struggles last year.
